About NWALA

The Nebraska Women’s Athletic Leadership Alliance was founded in 2023 by Jacque Tevis-Butler, the girls’ soccer coach and a social studies teacher at Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska.

The mission of NWALA is

To empower women in positions of leadership in Nebraska interscholastic athletics by increasing the number of women in those positions and developing strategies to retain them.

To support and increase the number of girls participating in sports so they have the skills to transition into a position of athletic leadership if they desire.

NWALA seeks to provide resources to support head coaches, assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, athletic trainers, Athletic Directors, Assistant ADs, and officials at the high school, middle school, and junior high levels.
